What to expect
The gates are open to walkers every day from dawn until dusk. Maps of the historic sections are kept at the lodge, and a warden will walk them with you. There is no obligation in coming — many families come simply to sit beneath the old trees.

A member of the family answers the phone day or night. There is nothing you need to arrange before you call — we will guide you through every immediate step.
We come to you, and bring your loved one into our care with dignity. From this moment, you need carry nothing alone.
Before any decision, we ask about the person you loved. The farewell is built around what we hear — never a package, never a hurry.
After the day itself, the grounds stay open to you for as long as you wish to return. Care of the place is kept in perpetuity.

What should I do first when a death occurs?
Call us at any hour. A member of the family will answer, guide you through the immediate steps, and come to bring your loved one into our care — there is nothing you need to arrange before you phone.
May we visit the grounds before we decide anything?
Always. The gates are open dawn to dusk, every day, and a warden will walk the sections with you with no obligation. Many families come simply to sit.
Can I pre-plan and pre-pay my own arrangements?
Yes. We record your wishes in full and hold the cost at today’s prices, kept safe until they are needed. It is the kindest letter you can write your family.
Do you offer cremation as well as burial?
We do, performed on our own grounds and never contracted out. Witnessed cremation is available, and columbarium niches are set beneath the old chapel wall.

If a death has occurred, call (555) 014-1901 and a member of the family will be with you within the hour. For pre-planning and all other matters, the lodge is open Monday through Saturday. Come whenever you are ready.
